Tennessee EDGE -Congratulations goes out to our entire EDGE program this weekend for
qualifying a team at the 12U, 15U, 16U, and 17U YBOA Nationals to be held in Florida, July 2009.
An extra special congratulations goes out to the EDGE 17U for winning the 2009 YBOA State
Championships, held at A-Game SportsPlex, Franklin, TN. June 5-7, 2009.  We are absolutely
proud of everyone's accomplishments and hard work.  Good luck!
Our upcoming events will take the 16U & 17U to Chicago June 26-28th, and the 15U, 16, & 17U
will participate in the Adidas tournament, Cincinnati July 6-8, 2009!

***
Last season, June 24, 2009, we thanked  Mr. Chris Sanders, Ex-Tennessee Titans, Wide
Receiver
for being our guest keynote speaker.  Chris and President Thompson are members of
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Chris spoke to our 12U and 17U boys about achievement in
all its endeavors.  His speech to the players pointed out the art of listening and playing hard
everyday.  Great players never take a day off, because they are always working on their craft.
He asked the boys to play hard and win big!
*** Tennessee EDGE 17U
were on fire as they We returned from Chicago, IL. with a
Championship to boast after winning the "Chicago Hardwood Classic" hosted by "Walker
Fitness Athletics, Lisle, IL.
The boys went 3-1 and played a very tough Illinois Flames team from Aurora, IL. who gave the
EDGE 17U all they could handle.  This was a great way to go into our July coaches events.
Tennessee EDGE 17U has (4) Championships, (2) 2nd place, (1) 3rd place, and (1) DNQ;  Next, the
17U move onto Cincy, OH. to play in the Adidas "it takes 5 classic".  Our 16U boys played well in
Chicago as well, but were a bit over matched vs. Kenny Battles 16U team from Aurora, IL/K-B
Hoops.  The trip was great!
*** Tennessee EDGE 12U
headed to play in last year's 2009 YBOA Nationals, held at Disney
World, Orlando, FL.
They were ready and focused.  Our 12U EDGE opened play Monday June 29,
2009 with a 71-61 victory over the Mardi Gras Gators, LA.  They will play games 2 & 3 in pool play
on Tuesday June 30, 2009.  Although their first game was tough and this is some of our players
first experience at this level, little Nick Gleason, PG/SG pull us through by scoring 29, including 6
3's in the game.  Defensively we were led by our two post players Rahn Bailey/Jackson English.
More updates to come this week.
***Day 2 of the 12U YBOA Nationals were even more exciting as the young Tennessee EDGE 12U
ripped into their opponents even more, crushing Team Bahamas All Stars (5th seed) by 30
points, blasting Queen City Ballers, NC. (2nd Seed) by 25, and finally beating the Dekalb Eagles,
GA (1 Seed) by 18 points to earn the number 1 overall seed out of our bracket.   With their
uptempo style of play and smothering defense, this young EDGE team won their pool by an
average margin of victory, which was 17 points a contest, including knocking off the #1 seed as
well. Led in scoring by Rahn Bailey and Chase Nappier, with combined defensive efforts from
everyone,  WE ARE NOW THE #1 SEED going into bracket play, which starts on Wednesday, July
1, 09.  The EDGE 12 has played so well the local newspaper has written a nice article on their
performance.  Way to go guys.  It must be that new PONY gear that's helping us :-).  Continue to
play hard and bring us a GOLD MEDAL home.
I want to give a huge hand to our 1st year 12U boys program, for finishing 3 in the YBOA National
Tournament of Champions, including our on Chase Nappier who made the all tournament team.
Way to go, guys!

last season 2009 "shootout in the Boro", they are looking
forward to a great push towards this years YBOA 15U Nationals in late July 09.

***The EDGE 17U travel
led to Orlando, FL. July 2009, to play in last years 17U Super Showcase...
Good luck and congrat's
to a great season.
On July 16, 2009 Kendal Jennings, 17U Wingman, with National Exposure was invited to play in
the State of Alabama High School North vs. South All-Star game.  Kendal finished as the second
leading scorer finishing with 15pts. 9 Rbs, and 3 steal, a couple of fantastic dunks, including two
clutch free throws at the end of the game to give the Alabama North All-Stars a 69-66 victory.

***The EDGE 15U will travel
led to Orlando, FL, July 2009, to play in the YBOA National tournament
of Champions.  Congrat's on a great 2009 summer season and good luck at Nationals.
