President/Founder- Tony Thompson
Director of Basketball Operations-Travis Ingram
Coach Thompson grew up playing basketball in the city of broad shoulders "Chicago, IL". He was
a standout guard at Morgan Park HS, on the south side of the city. Coach Thompson was also a
member of the 1986 team that completed the season with a 30-3 record, which broke the
previously held record by the schools 1976 team led by Levi Cobb. Coach Thompson was also
part of a very talent group of basketball players to come out of Chicago during the mid 80''s, such
NBA standouts like Tim Hardaway, Nick Anderson, Kendall Gill, and Randy Brown to name a few.
He went on to play college basketball at North Central College, IL. He relocate to Nashville, TN,
and After 6 seasons of coaching at the middle, High School and AAU levels, Coach Thompson
has established the Tennessee-EDGE AAU Basketball Program. As an active member of Kappa
Alpha Psi fraternity, Inc., coach Thompson dedicates his community service to his program where
he has developed some of the best talent to come out of the Middle Tennessee area. In 2005, he
was awarded an article in the Nationally published coaches book "Winning Hoops", where he
describes his unique style of trapping defenses that were cultivated over the past years. In 2005,
Coach T and staff, won the 15U Boys National Div. II AAU Championship, Little Rock, Ark. His
coaching style, passion and knowledge is what makes his players want to play for him. Coach
Tony also participates in the yearly coaches certification through the NIKE-CBBC Coaches clinic,
which continues to further develop his knowledge and understanding of the game. Join Coach
Thompson and staff at Tennessee-Edge basketball and grow. Coach T has two children,
Ashleigh and Tony, Jr. The EDGE motto is "Go Hard Every Time".
Coach Travis Ingram grew up in Anniston, AL. Playing basketball gave him the mindset of being
a winner. While in high school, he was known for his sound defensive play. Later in his High
School career, Coach Travis moved to Brooklyn, USA. He finished his High School career at
Boys & Girls. Basketball gave him an opportunity to further his career at Bowie State Univ. As
Director of Basketball Operations for the Tennessee EDGE, He was very instrumental in our
2005 Championship as 15U, in Little Rock, Ark. Coach Travis will continue to bring that same
intensity and defensive philosophy to our program as we develop our athlete's. With his
knowledge, passion and understanding of the game, he's responsible for all of our athlete's
development while growing with our program. Coach Travis also participates in the yearly
coaches certification through the NIKE-CBBC Coaches clinic, which continues to further develop
his knowledge and understanding of the game. His philosophy is is to make sure our players
are ready for the next level. Tennessee EDGE is glad to have his services.
